    8:00 AM – Registration & Breakfast  
    • Breakfast Menu: Coffee, tea, pastries, fruit. 
    9:00 AM – Welcome/Opening Session 
    • ONA President and Executive Director Rick Lucas and ONA Health Policy Chair Catharyne Henderson with Invited Guests: House Speaker Matt Huffman, Senate President Rob McColley, and Senate Minority Leader Nickie Antonio 
    10:00 AM – Member Leader Conversations on Workplace Violence 
    11:00 AM – Rally for Workers’ Rights & Safe Patient Care  Location: West Plaza of the Statehouse 
    • Open to ALL: Individuals not attending Lobby Day are WELCOME to attend only the outdoor rally
    12:00 PM – Lunch & Learn: Organizing for Safe Staffing  
    • Boxed lunches with vegetarian options available. 
    1:00 PM – Legislative Panel Discussion on Workplace Violence  
    • Moderated by Catharyne Henderson featuring Panelists: REP. Andrea White and REP. Rachel Baker 
    2:00 PM – Legislative Visits 
    • Short legislative visit and messaging training. 
    • Legislative visits. Small groups, led by staff, meet with targeted legislators (Health Committee, Finance Committee members).
    • Debrief and share insights from visits. 
    3:30 PM – Closing & Call to Action

    Zach Klein

    Columbus City Attorney

    Zach Klein was sworn in as Columbus City Attorney on January 1, 2018 after previously serving as a member of Columbus City Council since January 2011, including two years as Council President from 2016-2017.

    As prescribed by the Columbus City Charter, the City Attorney is “the legal adviser of and attorney and counsel for the city, and for all officers and departments thereof in matters relating to their official duties.”

    Every day, the City Attorney’s office provides an array of legal services: defending the city against lawsuits; assuring that newly enacted legislation conforms with existing city code; approving contracts as to form and correctness; evaluating whether misdemeanor criminal charges should be filed in Franklin County Municipal Court; prosecuting traffic and criminal cases; providing oral and written legal opinions; serving as the legal advisor to the Columbus Divisions of Police and Fire; and eliminating public nuisances that persist in Columbus neighborhoods.
